THE PHENOMENON OF SOCIAL PREJUDICE IN INSTAGRAM
Abstract
Instagram is one of the social media to upload photos and video. The public is free to comment on any posts on all sides. So this condition allows the emergence of social prejudice to the account owner and the people who support it. Social prejudices are negative and discriminatory feelings without objective reasons for the people belonging to the prejudiced class. This study aims to provide an overview of social prejudice phenomena in instagram. The method used is descriptive qualitative with observation technique, that is by observing 10 account instagram selected purposive technique with category followers which exceed one million. The results obtained that the photos and videos uploaded on the intagram provide two consequences: raising self-image or getting scorn.
