ANALYSIS OF INCOME INEQUALITY BETWEEN REGIONS IN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT GROWTH IN NORTHERN SUMATRA

Abstract


The economic growth of any county or city can be seen from the contribution given by each sector of the economy, whether agriculture, mining, industry, services and others. Economic growth in each district or city should be followed by a process of social change, institutional economics, to achieve a better life. The economic growth in different areas will lead to occurrence of disparity of income inequality or inequity both areas, employment opportunities as well as development imbalances. Development imbalances between regions is a common problem in economic activities a region, especially in developing countries.

The purpose of this research was to analyze income inequality of economic growth that occurred between the county or city in North Sumatra. Regression analysis into the methods used in this study by using secondary data in the form of a data sort time (time series) obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS). The results of the processing of data showed that income between regions is likely to significantly affect the economic growth in different counties or cities in North Sumatra.
