DEVELOPING CHARACTER BUILDING THROUGH MODEL GUIDANCE AND COUNSELING
Abstract
ABSTRACT
Character building is a continuous process to foster, improve and shape the character, character, noble character, and psychological traits that are based on the spirit of society expectation. Because by planting Character building from early age can make human being capable humanize human being. However, Indonesian society today has ignored what Character building is? So that humans become unethical both in his speech or their activity in daily life. This is caused by self-destructive and ethical blindness (ethical illiteracy) which still grows in the individual due to the impact of various political, social, cultural and religious factors. The study aims to test the effectiveness in developing Character building through guidance and counseling. The research used quantitative approach, quasi experimental method with nonequivalent research design pretest-posttest control group design. Research participants of students of Class X Primary Islamic Primary School Pringsewu which amounted to 20 students. Data analysis technique using t-test. The results showed that the use of effective guidance and counseling model to develop student character building.
